Trillian Rescue ALPHA

Crew Chief - Adam Wickes

Trillian Rescue Alpha is one of Auckland Coastguard's three Dedicated Rescue Vessels (DRV's). She is crewed by seven teams of six crew members, each rostered to approximately one weekend day every three weeks. The skippers all hold a commercial certificate and must also pass the stringent Coastguard Certificate of Competency (COC). The crew must all meet a minimum level of competency in boatmanship, navigation, search and rescue techniques, and first aid. The commitment to ongoing training is significant – to the point that if a crew member misses three fortnightly training sessions in a row, they lose their place in these sought after positions.
